Maintenance and transport of application and system modifications
System Guides
The lifecycle of an SAP system begins with the installation of the database platform. This is installed by an SAP Basis administrator and can consist of one of the following databases: HANA, Sybase, DB2, Oracle, MSSQL and MaxDB.

SAP Basis administration is distinct from other roles such as ABAP developers and consultants who handle architecture. In many companies, the boundaries between administration and development are blurred. Admins may therefore also be involved in the planning and development of the system.
COMPLY WITH ORDER OF OPTIMISATION
SAP Basis is the cornerstone of your SAP system and failures can lead to significant and annoying problems. For assistance in building and expanding SAP Basis, SAP Basis consultants can help. Certified SAP consultants enable tailored solutions for any business landscape.

The application layer is the core of an R/3 SAP Basis system. This layer communicates in both directions, to the presentation layer and to the database layer. The application programs on the application servers request the required data from the database layer, process it, prepare it for the user and pass it on to the presentation layer. Data that the user enters in the SAP GUI is passed on to the database via the application servers.

For administrators, a useful product - "Shortcut for SAP Systems" - is available in the SAP basis area.

The website www.sap-corner.de offers many useful information about SAP basis.

In addition to the optimisation potential of Security Automation, which I explained in more detail in my last post, the E-Learning division also offers numerous possibilities for automation.

If the software version changes during such an update, for example from S/4HANA 1909 to S/4HANA 2020, this is referred to as an upgrade.
