Regular maintenance tasks or the standard procedures must be described and defined to build checklists based on them and to control compliance with this standard. The SAPSolution-Manager can also support this as a tool of SAP e.g. through the Guided Procedures. In this context, it is also necessary to document the functionality of an underlying application and thereby determine what testing and monitoring activities are necessary. This is a reconciliation process between the SAP basis, other IT departments and, if necessary, the business areas concerned. The defined standard and the system's IST situation must be fully documented and regularly checked for compliance. This can be done through automated monitoring, validation using tools such as SAP-LVM (Landscape Virtualisation Management) or SAP Solution Manager, as well as manual checklists. Only the regular review of the standards guarantees their compliance. It can also support the regular use of SAP services such as Go-live Checks or Early Watch. Examples of how to standardise procedures are listed here: ・ Naming of system instances and logical hosts, or at least one central registry in a directory service, or LVM or SAP customer portal ・ Centrally starting and stopping systems, such as via the LVM ・ Categorising SAP instances by T-shirt size to define profile standards and cost them.

There are the following types of Support Packages: SPAM/SAINT Update A SPAM/SAINT update (PAT) contains updates and improvements to the SAP Patch Manager and the SAP Add-On Installation Tool. FCS Support Package An FCS Support Package (FFD) brings an FCS system to the generally available release level (GA level) before other support packages can be inserted. Component Support Package One such support package (COP) applies to one software component (SAP_BASIS, SAP_HR, SAP_APPL, etc) and contains corrections for errors in the repository and in the dictionary in exactly this software component. Support Packages for the component SAP_HR include adjustments due to legal changes in addition to these corrections. Add-On Support Package An Add-On Support Package (AOP) always applies to an add-on with a specific release and includes corrections for that add-on.
Troubleshooting and support
Hybrid clouds have long been the norm, even if this development has come about rather by accident. Most companies have chosen different cloud software offerings and integrated them accordingly, be it Workday for HCM, SalesForce for CRM, Marketo for marketing automation, Coupa for SRM or Vendavo for pricing. As a user of the group, you cannot see tabs either. Now select the applications / tabs to which the group should be accessed (with CTRL you can select several) and select the Grant button. Note: Select the Grant drop-down menu using the button and not the drop-down menu! Use the drop-down menu to determine if and how far users of the group you are currently editing can make CMC tab configurations to other groups / users! Select Grant for the desired tabs. If you still do not see any applications/tabs, it is because the group/user lacks the generic display right at the top level of the respective tab. To do this, go to the desired tab (in the example is the universe), select Manage —> Top-Level Security —> All Universes (the last point differs depending on the tab). Confirm the hint that appears and assign at least the following right for the groups you want: General —> General —> Objects View. Once this right is granted, the tab will also appear on the CMC home page. You can then see the tabs on the CMC home page.
