SAP HANA Cloud Platform (SAP HCP)
The Client Control
Application layer: The application layer is the central component of the SAP ERP system and is therefore also referred to as the base system. All applications and calculations are executed here. The application layer communicates with both the database layer and the presentation layer. On the one hand, it requests data from the database layer, processes it and then passes it on to the presentation layer. On the other hand, data that is newly entered in the presentation layer is passed on to the database layer and stored there.
The basic operation of SAP Basis includes the operational readiness of the SAP system, management of system changeability, configuration and administration of system profiles, analysis of system failures, operation and monitoring of technical interfaces, scheduling and monitoring of SAP standard jobs, and much more. The optional services as an extension include activities whose execution and frequency depends on the existing system environment and which can be optionally booked (client copies, execution of client transports and homogeneous/heterogeneous system copies, etc.). These include performing release upgrades, installing enhancement packages, adapting new printer types, device drivers or character sets, and much more.
Hybrid Clouds
In order to provide individual SAP or non-SAP developments and to link them to your SAP ERP system, we provide you with the necessary SAP NetWeaver application servers. We offer the following services in this area:
Have you ever wondered what there is actually a tab personalisation for role maintenance in the PFCG or for user data maintenance in the SU01? I will answer this question for you in this blog post. What do we need the Personalisation tab for? This tab gives you access to the central repository for personalisation data. The purpose of this repository is to create a storage facility for user- and role-specific data without the need to create additional database tables. This data should then be taken into account in all manipulations of users and roles. The functionality initially includes a generic repository for user- and role-specific data and centralised access to that data by user and role maintenance. It also provides the ability to connect existing tables with user-specific data to the central access via a defined interface. To store personalisation data in the central repository, a key must be assigned to the data: This is done via the registration transaction PERSREG. The personalisation data that you create is stored in the generic drop table. Access to it is provided by the class methods of the CL_PERS_ADMIN class. Different levels of personalisation The data can be stored either to the user, to roles or to the system. A user can then read all data assigned to him (via role or his own settings) at once.
Tools such as "Shortcut for SAP Systems" complement missing functions in the SAP basis area.
SAP Basis refers to the administration of SAP system that includes activities like installation and configuration, load balancing, and performance of SAP applications running on Java stack and SAP ABAP. This includes the maintenance of different services related to database, operating system, application and web servers in SAP system landscape and stopping and starting the system. Here you can find some useful information about SAP Basis: www.sap-corner.de.
To do this, re-enter a suitable role name via the PFCG.
Now the role only has to be assigned to the corresponding users in the system.
