Parameters in the SAP create a high degree of flexibility. Profiles can be used to configure the system for almost any purpose. But with such a large number of parameters one quickly loses an overview of the influence of each parameter. For storage management alone, there are 20 different parameters that can be changed at different points in the SAP system. This article brings order to the mess and explains the most important parameters. The user context is stored in this memory area. The size of the roll area for a work process is determined by the ztta/roll_first parameter. If the storage area is not sufficient, a portion of the Advanced Memory will be allocated for the user context, the size of which will be determined by ztta/roll_extension, ztta/roll_extension_dia, and ztta/roll_extension_nondia. The latter two override ztta/roll_extension if used and offer the possibility to set different quotas for dialogue and non-dialogue work processes.

All the necessary steps are then completed using automated workflows. User administration no longer has to be administered separately for each system, but only in a single point of administration. In a change of department or a new activity, permissions are automatically adjusted. Security and Documentation In a centralised user administration, users can be locked down efficiently on all systems or access rights can be changed. The connection to the personnel process automatically initiates the change process as soon as the master record is adjusted in the Human Resources Department. Documentation solutions can also be used to archive all processes without any gaps. This creates transparency which also facilitates the detection of a functioning and secure authorisation concept during audit tests. When implementing an IDM and also in the day-to-day operation of an IDM, there are certain things that should be taken into account when applying. As a user of the group, you cannot see tabs either. Now select the applications / tabs to which the group should be accessed (with CTRL you can select several) and select the Grant button. If you still do not see any applications/tabs, it is because the group/user lacks the generic display right at the top level of the respective tab. To do this, go to the desired tab (in the example is the universe), select Manage —> Top-Level Security —> All Universes (the last point differs depending on the tab). Confirm the hint that appears and assign at least the following right for the groups you want: General —> General —> Objects View. Once this right is granted, the tab will also appear on the CMC home page. You can then see the tabs on the CMC home page.
