The HANA database (in-memory database) is an in-house development by SAP and brings with it numerous innovations. For example, it is automatically monitored by the system. In addition, it stores not only operational (user-generated) data, but also system data for controlling application content as well as configuration tables.
We can say that Basis is the operating system for SAP applications and ABAP. Basis provides services such as communication with the operating system, database communication, memory management, application data collection at runtime, web requests, business data exchange, etc.

Automatic error handling when a job is aborted is desirable and useful in most cases. The conscious processing and consideration of error situations in job chains - also at step level - can help to reduce manual effort.
