Check and refresh the permission buffer
Manual authorizations
Changes to SAP user data should be uncomplicated and fast. Users can make requests for SAP systems themselves. In exceptional and emergency situations, SAP users should be assigned extended authorizations quickly and for a limited period of time. Simplified assignment and control of exception authorizations in SAP systems is required. You can freely and flexibly determine the duration of these authorization assignments. Decisions can be controlled and monitored across systems. Whether it's recertification of SAP users, vacation requests or birthday wishes: all these things can now be processed and managed centrally in one place.

Certain SAP authorizations, including those for table maintenance (S_TABU_*) require special attention for data protection reasons. These are known as critical authorizations. In the course of authorization planning, a company should determine which authorizations are to be considered critical, which roles may receive which critical authorizations or values for critical authorization fields, and so on. The German Federal Office for Information Security has compiled detailed information on defining critical authorizations.
Checking at Program Level with AUTHORITY-CHECK
SAP Note 1720401 extends the SU10 transaction (mass maintenance of users) with the previously missing option to select users by login date and password changes. The notice adds these features to the RSUSR200 report. This report can also be executed directly using the transaction SU10 and the corresponding permission. After the hint has been inserted, the transaction SU10 will be expanded to include the login data button.

Different organisational fields are used in each module. Since there are many interfaces between the modules, the main organisational fields of the modules must be linked. However, there are also organisational fields that are only relevant for the respective module. All object fields used as organisational units are listed in the USORG table. You can call this table through the SE16 transaction. Alternatively, in the selection screen of the AGR_1252 table, the value help of the VARBL field also shows the corresponding name for the respective organisation fields.

During go-live, the assignment of necessary authorizations is particularly time-critical. The "Shortcut for SAP systems" application provides functions for this purpose, so that the go-live does not get bogged down because of missing authorizations.

At www.sap-corner.de you will also find a lot of useful information on the subject of SAP authorizations.

It is easier to specify the programme name in the PROGRAM field because the maximum value of 40 characters is the limit for programme names in the SAP NetWeaver application server ABAP.

This method can be applied even if the model is not used for all enterprise risks.
