SAP S/4HANA: Analysis and simple adjustment of your authorizations
Schedule PFUD transaction on a regular basis
This report has two functions: PFCG role consolidation - Identical roles are grouped into a single user base when validity periods overlap or connect directly to each other. Select the users, user groups, or roles to apply these rules to in the Selection Criteria pane. Deleting Expired PFCG Scrolls - If you uncheck Expired Mappings, Expired Scrolls will be removed from the user's root.

You will find all the user favourites of a system in the SMEN_BUFFC table; additionally there is the table SMEN_BUFFI, in which the links from the favourite lists are stored. You can simply export this table to Microsoft Excel and then evaluate it. At this point, however, we would like to point out that you may not evaluate the favourites without prior consultation with the users, because the stored favourites are user-related and therefore personal data. The SMEN_BUFFC table contains various fields that determine the structure of the placed favourites. For example, you can create folders in your favourites to sort them. This folder structure can also be found in the SMEN_BUFFC table. However, the entries themselves that you will find in the REPORT field are important for the re-creation of a permission concept. The REPORTTYPE field tells you whether the entry in question is, for example, a transaction or a Web-Dynpro application. In the TEXT field, if required, you will find the description of the favourite entry. In addition, you should also pay attention to the TARGET_SYS field, since favourites can also be entered for other systems, in this case an RFC target system is entered under TARGET_SYS.
Error analysis for authorizations (part 1)
If these issues are not taken into account during a conversion, there will be an imbalance between the system and the components to be protected, since the change in the system constellation means that new components, such as those mentioned above, must also be taken into account. Otherwise, a company may suffer economic damage and the resulting damage to its image. Furthermore, neglect of legal requirements (BDSG, DSGVO, GOB, HGB, etc.)1 can lead to legal measures or steps.

The default authorization roles of the new SAP system for consolidation and planning, SAP Group Reporting, are shown in the following graphic. It does not matter whether the system is accessed via the browser (Fiori Launchpad) or via local access (SAP GUI). The authorization roles shown in the graphic merely indicate the technical specifications preset by SAP. However, these can be used as a starting point and adapted accordingly after a copy has been created.

During go-live, the assignment of necessary authorizations is particularly time-critical. The "Shortcut for SAP systems" application provides functions for this purpose, so that the go-live does not get bogged down because of missing authorizations.

At www.sap-corner.de you will also find a lot of useful information on the subject of SAP authorizations.

To do this, click the Roles button (Use in Single Roles).

In addition the specialist department must be contacted, which has to decide whether the user receives the permission! It can happen that the problem reported by the user is not an authorization problem at all.
