Security in development systems
Customising User and Permissions Management
DDIC: DDIC is the only user able to log in or make changes to the ABAP Dictionary during installations and release changes. It is also used in the client 000, e.g. for certain jobs or Unicode conversions. DDIC exists in all clients except 066. Safeguard measures: In all systems (except for client 000 due to upgrade features), set DDIC to the System user type. If necessary, you can switch it back to a dialogue user using the Emergency User. Change the password, assign the user to the SUPER user group, and log it with the Security Audit Log.
In a redesign, we follow the principle of job-related workstation roles to technically map the job profile of the employees. To minimize the effort for the same job profiles with different organizational affiliations, the organizational units are inherited via an additional role. The separation of technical and organizational requirements greatly simplifies role development and modification. If certain people, such as team leaders, require extended authorizations, key user roles are developed for them, which extend the existing job role.
SAP S/4HANA: Analysis and simple adjustment of your authorizations
A far more elaborate way is the identification via the business roll customising. Here you first identify the technical name of the area start page or the logical link in the customising of your business role in the CRMC_UI_PROFILE transaction. If you have an area start page, check the technical name of the corresponding logical link. The next step is to switch to the navigation bar customising in the transaction CRMC_UI_NBLINKS and identify to the technical name of your logical link the corresponding target ID in the View Define logical link. If you use the target ID as the search parameter in the CRMC_UI_COMP_IP table, you will get the information about component name, component window, and inbound plug as the search result.
SAP NetWeaver 7.31 introduces a new method for determining affected applications and roles by timestamping (see tip 45, "Using the timestamp in the transaction SU25"). With the Support Package 12 for NetWeaver Release 7.31 and Support Package 4 for NetWeaver Release 7.40 from SAP Note 1896191, the Expert Mode function for taking SU22 data for step 2 has been added.
Assigning a role for a limited period of time is done in seconds with "Shortcut for SAP systems" and allows you to quickly continue your go-live.
The website www.sap-corner.de offers a lot of useful information about SAP authorizations.
On the right, a new detail with the recording details appears.
This is based on the proposed authorisation values defined in the transaction SU24, whose maintenance status is standard in the authorisation maintenance.
