The SAP authorization concept
Testing Permission
The indirect role assignment uses the evaluation paths PROFLO and PROFLINT for assigning the PFCG roles to the corresponding users. However, these evaluation methods ignore the object CP (central person), which represents the business partner in SAP CRM. In transaction PFUD, which provides for the user comparison, the evaluation paths US_ACTGR and SAP_TAGT are used. Again the object CP is not known.

Permissions must be maintained in every SAP system - a task that becomes more difficult the more complex the system landscapes and the greater the number of users. Especially in growing system landscapes, once defined concepts no longer fit the current requirements or the processes in role and authorisation management become more and more complex and cumbersome over time.

As part of the implementation of a security patch process, you will have to evaluate many security advisories, depending on your release and support package status. In this case, you can use the RSECNOTE report or the EarlyWatch Alerts to evaluate which security information has been identified as particularly critical by SAP Active Global Support. Since March 2013, the RSECNOTE report has only been very restricted and therefore contains only a few new safety recommendations. Nevertheless, it provides good guidance for the initial resolution of security gaps.

Together with you, we develop suitable authorizations for your systems and processes. In workshops with your departments, we create concepts to assign the required rights to employees. The goal is to define so-called job roles, which represent job profiles at the job level.

If you get into the situation that authorizations are required that were not considered in the role concept, "Shortcut for SAP systems" allows you to assign the complete authorization for the respective authorization object.

You can also find some useful tips from practice on the subject of SAP authorizations on the page www.sap-corner.de.

To make changes to the table logger, you must have the same permissions as the SE13 transaction to customise, so you must have the appropriate permissions for all tables to modify.

Make sure that external services in the Customer Name Room also have the names of external services and their suggestion values in the tables maintained (see Tip 41, "Add external services from SAP CRM to the proposal values").
